Helen Rose Mutassem, RMT
I believe that the most effective work is done slowly. Soft tissue has personality and needs time to accept and respond to manipulation. The intention for each massage therapy treatment is to provide a balanced approach — alternating between intense, focused work on specific sources of discomfort and general rhythmic techniques designed to distract, confuse and soothe the nervous system — encouraging muscles, connective tissues, and the mind to relax and release held tensions.
My style is best suited to those who prefer a firmer therapeutic touch — expect your tissues to be challenged!
Sensitive to the ways in which systemic oppression, exclusion, and marginalization impact the physical wellness of individuals, I practice from an intersectional feminist, sex and body positive, anti-oppressive, queer and trans allied, class-conscious position that is welcoming of all.
I completed my training at Sutherland-Chan in 2010 and am continuously motivated by the opportunity to affect positive change and contribute to the wellbeing of my clients. Registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario and a member of the Registered Massage Therapists' Association of Ontario.
